Grading the overall experience at American Airlines Center

I talked with a guy named Jacob who was with his family. He was from Phoenix and he was formerly a Coyotes fan. However, he wasn't keen on rooting for the Utah Mammoth (who could blame him? Those clubbers can be annoying), so he decided on the Stars. He talked about how cool the experience was as a fan and spoke glowingly about the organization.

There's a bit of a reputation that Stars fans carry within the Golden Knights community in this rivalry. They're seen as, well, less than salt-of-the-earth and brash. Golden Knights fans have especially taken a dislike to Jamie Benn, who had the infamous cross-check on Mark Stone.

However, the vibe was vastly different when I went to Dallas. Sure, there might've been some jokes about a Golden Knights fan in the crowd. But it was all goodwill and vibes afterwards (mainly because Vegas won, 3-2, which was the first road win with me in attendance).

After all, it could be worse. These Texans could have a Los Angeles mentality and be the most insufferable people on the planet. But they're not, which makes the experience much better. Therefore, I'm giving the experience a 9.5 out of 10. It's worth going to a game if you're looking for a different brand of hockey that's more Southern and... Texas.
