Ladies and gentlemen, the last travel guide of the year is upon us. We've gone through some incredible trips, ranging from Tampa Bay to Hollywood to even Montreal. But now, it's time to stay home and watch the Golden Knights make a late push for the Stanley Cup.
Still, I managed to make one more hockey trip across North America. This time, we were heading to Dallas, Texas, home of the Cowboys, BBQ, and the Stars.
The Dallas trip marks a unique experience that simply stands out on its own. Who would've thought that the state of Texas would have its own hockey lore and history behind it? Not the snowbirds, yet here we are.
Still, let's look at the trip as a whole and see what stood out the most. What are the sights that Golden Knights fans must check out? Believe it or not, we got some help with this one, so buckle up and stay on that bull for the full eight seconds. Everything's bigger in Texas and that includes the hockey!
Getting to Dallas
Well, obviously, you can get there via plane, which will take over three hours. For me, it was taking the overnight red-eye to drop down into Dallas, which wasn't a big deal. That also meant sticking around the airport for a few hours and waiting to pick up my rental car.
The good news? Texas drivers are relatively stable people. If you're looking to get around, don't expect a happy-go-lucky style that you'll find in Los Angeles. Instead, you'll get drivers who don't take guff, yet they still play by the rules. As they say, don't mess with Texas!
