People love saying that the Vegas Golden Knights don't have any prospects. They view the pool as being decimated by trades, injuries, and everything but the kitchen sink. However, the pool showed a different side last season.
The Silver Knights had a fantastic campaign by finishing third in the AHL's Pacific Division. They also won their first-round matchup against the San Jose Barracuda, adding more surprise to the masses. Heck, Ryan Craig got an NHL head coaching gig from the Silver Knights' banner season!
Of course, fans already witnessed how good the Tahoe Knight Monsters were. Two seasons in the ECHL and they make the Kelly Cup playoffs? That's good enough to turn heads! This made things much more interesting in terms of prospects to watch for this upcoming season.
Behold, the magical list of Golden Knights prospects, straight from Elite Prospects! This will be the list that determines who fans should watch for during the upcoming season. Let's meet the most interesting names and see what they bring to the table.
1.) Trevor Connelly
Last season, Connelly had a solid full campaign with the Silver Knights. He scored 14 goals and 35 assists in 46 games, adding much-needed offense to the club. The native of Tustin, California, has shown a knack for scoring goals when called upon, especially at the amateur level.
That's what the Silver Knights will look for heading into the 2026-27 season. The winger looks to add to his scoring touch and help Henderson get back to the Calder Cup playoffs.
2.) Tuomas Uronen
Last season was a quiet introduction to the AHL level for Uronen. The Finnish forward scored 12 goals and eight assists in 57 games with the Silver Knights. However, fans know what he's capable of, especially from his OHL days.
His last foray in the amateur league saw him score 38 goals and 52 assists in 63 games with the Kingston Frontenacs (2024-25). Can he rise to that level in 2026-27 and help the Silver Knights get back to the Calder Cup playoffs?
3.) Juho Piiparinen
The newest Golden Knights first-round pick will be playing with Tappara in Finland's Liiga this season. But there are whispers that he could be another trade casualty like his fellow first-rounders. Think of names like Zach Dean, Brendan Brisson, and David Edstrom.
But there's a legitimate case that Piiparinen sticks around. The Golden Knights don't have much in terms of defenseman depth in the prospect pool. What better way to help that group out than by getting Tappara off to a solid start?
4.) Kai Uchacz
2025-26 was a banner year for Uchacz. The former Red Deer Rebel scored 20 goals and 31 assists in 68 games as Henderson's Assistant Captain. Overall, he's been phenomenal for the Silver Knights, scoring goals and driving the play.
If he can continue ascending the ranks and improving his game, there's no reason why he can't impact the NHL club. The Golden Knights can stand to have more young talent on the roster. Uchacz would be an excellent start.
5.) Cameron Whitehead
Whitehead had a good campaign with the Tahoe Knight Monsters last season, posting a save percentage of .921 and adding two shutouts. But he must show that he's capable of handling the faster pace of the big leagues.
If the Northeastern alum can ascend and rise to the challenge, that will bode well for the Golden Knights' goaltending room. If not? Well, we have a massive problem on our hands.
