Talking about the three players most likely to break the single-season record for goals, it's easy to see why players like Pavel Dorofeyev and Tomas Hertl would break such a record. They're heavily involved in every aspect of the play, looking for every opportunity to score.

That's especially true when they're on the power play. The two forwards combined for 27 power play goals last season, making them one of the most dangerous units in the NHL (28.3%, second-best in the league). But the focus on goals leads to another category that needs consideration: assists.

Sure, you can take matters into your own hands. That can come from a strong forecheck that leads to a breakaway goal (Golden Knights players are asking, "What's that?") or a player capitalizing on a defensive zone turnover. However, that's not how Vegas plays.

Instead, they believe in sharing the love. Of course, that doesn't involve singing, "Kumbaya," while holding hands. But it involves finding open looks and acting aggressively in front of the net.

Keep in mind that Jack Eichel holds the single-season record (66 in 2024-25) for the most assists. However, three names can break the record and establish themselves atop the franchise hierarchy. Who are these three "not-so-mysterious" men?

1.) Mitch Marner

It's been mentioned countless times on here. But if Mitch Marner played with the Vegas Golden Knights last season, he'd have the single-season record for assists (75). Of course, that also goes with the points record (102). However, that still holds true for the newest Golden Knight.

Fans are excited to see what he'll do with his new team in 2025-26. He's a proven commodity who can facilitate and play both ends of the ice. Who knows what he'll do with Jack Eichel for the upcoming year? Speaking of which...

2.) Jack Eichel

The man who set the assists record last season (66) could break his own record. What applies to Marner also applies to Eichel here.

He's a proven commodity who can take the game into his own hands, bringing the Golden Knights back into a game. The former second-overall pick has an innate instinct for setting up scoring plays without any pressure.

3.) Shea Theodore

Did you know Shea Theodore has the most career assists in Golden Knights history with 273? Some people might not know it. However, the defenseman knows how to set up rebounds and feed his teammates.

Last season alone, he had 50 assists in 67 games. Considering how the attack is shaping up, it wouldn't be surprising to see Theodore break Eichel's record. Bank on him to be a dark-horse candidate in this regard.
