You know what I've grown to appreciate over time? It's the little things in life. That can range from various things, whether it's freshly-cut nails, a new haircut, or a nice compliment. It isn't worth getting worked up over minor inconveniences, even when they stop in front of you for no reason.
But for Vegas Golden Knights fans, they've grown agitated with various minor inconveniences throughout the season. That ranged from bad minor penalties to injuries to... overtime.
Fortunately, the Golden Knights entered Monday's competition in a playoff spot with a chance to take first place in the Pacific Division by Wednesday morning. Of course, that meant getting help from the St. Louis Blues and the Washington Capitals, which is a tall order. Still, one can dream, right?
But let's turn back to November for a second. This was an enigmatic month that left fans with more questions than answers.
Where does this team stand?
Are they legitimate or are they frauds?
Let's be honest for a second. That answer remains to be seen, despite MoneyPuck and other experts thinking highly of the Golden Knights. It's a good thing that the loser point exists in hockey. Otherwise, this team would be cooked.
But let's focus on three stars for the month of November, shall we? These stars made the month bearable for the Golden Knights, providing ample scoring. They also powered the power play, among other units, keeping Vegas afloat. Here's who shone brightest for the Golden Knights.
1.) Shea Theodore
Entering November, Theodore was having a relatively quiet season with five assists. However, the Original Misfit erupted with three goals and six assists, marking a return of a key Golden Knights player. That included a three-assist performance on November 20 against the Utah Mammoth.
Ironically, Theodore made a name for himself in the goal-scoring department during his Golden Knights career. He's hit double digits three times and has done great at creating rebounds. Three goals in November will inspire plenty of confidence in the fanbase for this season.
2.) Tomas Hertl
The emergence of everyone's favorite turtle has proven fruitful for the Golden Knights. Hertl has scored six goals and three assists during November, making him one of the most important players around.
That's not even considering how he's supercharged the seventh-best power play in the NHL entering Monday (24.1%). Here, he scored two goals and two assists on the power play, turning the unit into a deadly force once again.
3.) Jack Eichel
You know, it's funny that Jack Eichel started November slowly (at least, by his standards). The superstar center had five assists before his "Mammoth" game against Utah on November 20, where he scored two goals and an assist.
He finished November strong, scoring three goals and 10 assists. Eichel's back to scoring over 100 projected points this season, too. He's projected to score 36 goals and 69 assists, which is good for 105 points. Not only would he be the franchise's first 100-point player, but he'd break his own single-season assists record from last year (66).
