However, he’s produced a 6-19-5 record, which is the worst among all the puckstoppers. Obviously, Golden Knights fans love to see Gibson in the opponents’ crease, but how do they feel when facing other netminders, especially those with winning records against their club? 3. Brandon Bussi - Carolina Hurricanes
Brandon Bussi has never faced the Golden Knights in the regular season. Still, with his brilliant relief appearance in the 2026 Stanley Cup Final, he’s become an instant villain to hockey fans in Nevada. Stepping into the series in Game 3, losing 5-4 in double overtime, Bussi would then pick up three straight wins, including a 22-save shutout in Game 6 to help the Carolina Hurricanes hoist the Stanley Cup.
2. Sergei Bobrovsky - Toronto Maple Leafs
Unlike Bussi, the Golden Knights got the best of Sergei Bobrovsky in their only playoff meeting, back in the 2023 Stanley Cup Final, when Vegas won their only championship. Despite going 1-4 in the series, Bobrovsky’s regular-season totals tell a different story. Through 11 meetings, the Russian netminder is 8-3-0 with a .913 SV% and 2.40 GAA with two shutouts. Moreover, with just 26 goals against, his totals are the second-fewest by any netminder with at least 10 appearances against Vegas.
1. Jake Oettinger - Dallas Stars
Just like many high-profile players across the league, Dallas Stars netminder Jake Oettinger deserves his own Golden Knights villain profile. Although he plays in the Western Conference, Oettinger doesn’t face Vegas as much as everyone thinks, with only 12 career games on his resume. However, he’s 8-2-2 in those meetings, producing a .914 SV% and the lowest GAA, 2.34, among puckstoppers with 10 games. In the playoffs, no one has faced the Golden Knights more than Oettinger, who is 6-7 across two series, which resulted in a loss in 2023 and a win in 2024.
