3.) The injury bug has devastated the Vegas Golden Knights

Sure, the Vegas Golden Knights have had their fair share of injuries to start the NHL season. They've lost players like Victor Olofsson (lower-body injury) on a week-to-week basis and have even seen Mark Stone (lower-body injury) miss time. After all, that's part of the game, especially when it's as physical as hockey.

However, the injury bug hasn't done much to stop the Golden Knights from staying atop the divisional standings. Part of that has been the MVP-caliber play of Jack Eichel. It has also been because of Adin Hill keeping the team in close games, which has gotten them crucial points (11 wins in one-goal games or shootouts this season).

Still, the Golden Knights have held serve when they needed to. They got healthy at the right time, taking four of their last five games against teams currently in playoff positioning. While the season is still young, the Golden Knights have had some good luck with injuries, particularly with players like Ivan Barbashev (upper-body injury sustained on Sunday against Minnesota) being day-to-day.
