The Vegas Golden Knights rough go with injuries and players being placed in COVID-19 protocols has led to a lot of movement between the players. I’m sure some of these players didn’t think they’d get an opportunity, little lone a starting job.

The Vegas Golden Knights are back tonight after getting two days off. The Knights are coming off a good win against the reigning Stanley Cup champions, the Tampa Bay Lightning. With that win, the Knights are going to be ready to come out and get another win tonight as they take on the Buffalo Sabres.

The struggle the Knights have had this year is consistency. Seems like if the goalie isn’t playing top notch, then we lose. However, with this game there should be some extra motivation from the locker room given the nature of this game.

For those of you who don’t already know, the Vegas Golden Knights had made a big trade early on this season to acquire a superstar by the name of Jack Eichel. That trade was a big move by McCrimmon and the rest of the Golden Knights front office. However, it came at a price.

In order to acquire a superstar as talented as Jack Eichel, you have to give something up as well. So with that being said, the Vegas Golden Knights had traded away Alex Tuch and Peyton Krebs.

Tonight, Tuch and Krebs will return to T-Mobile Arena as they look to get their revenge on the Golden Knights. But for now, let’s take a look at some of the injured players status’ prior to the game.

Vegas Golden Knights Injury Updates

Jack Eichel Update

Jack Eichel is more than likely not going to play tonight. Now although that is sad, I’d say that it’s for the best. I’m sure he wishes he could be out there tonight to play against his old team, but don’t risk anything that isn’t necessary. He is a key part of this franchise and will be a huge part to the teams success.

He will I’m sure be with the team tonight in hopes of making sure the team is good to go and battles on his behalf. Sitting out is never easy, but I’m sure he wants to be on the winning side here.

Alec Martinez Update

Alec Martinez, if he is going to play before the all-star break, this is his chance. Alec Martinez has missed the last month due to an injury after getting slashed in the eye. Martinez is a very talented defenseman, but he’s missed many games this season due to COVID-19 and/or injuries.

However, given the current situation on the defense, this would be the ideal time for him to return. Now, I’m sure after that comment you curious as to what I mean and that’s exactly what I’m going to get into now.

Zach Whitecloud Update

Zach Whitecloud has officially been ruled out for tonight’s game against the Buffalo Sabres. Whitecloud has been battling an injury over the past couple weeks that he has missed games for. Honestly, this is the best thing they can do for him.

Whitecloud signed his extension with the Vegas Golden Knights early on this season and it’s for that reason you have to be careful with him. He’s so valuable to this team that you can’t risk losing him for an extended period of time. Let him rest during this break and hope he comes back healthy.

Nicolas Hague Injury Update

Similar to Zach Whitecloud, Nicolas Hague has missed multiple games over the course of the last couple weeks. Now, it’s unfair to put that all on injuries because he was placed into COVID-19 protocol, but it’s no secret that he has been playing hurt.

Hague is a very good defenseman for this Vegas Golden Knights team and making sure that he is healthy will be a big part to the Knights success moving forward.
