The Vegas Golden Knights are heading to the nations capital to take on the eastern conference, Washington Capitals.
The Vegas Golden Knights, who have been on quite the drought over the last couple weeks, after losing to the Blackhawks, Maple Leafs, and Predators, are looking to make a statement tonight. That being said, it’s unfortunate they will be taking on the Washington Capitals.
The Vegas Golden Knights, who are currently in a rough patch, have a 2-3 record in their last five games played. The Capitals on the other hand have a 3-2 record. So although it appears that it could be an evenly matched game, there are still questions around the Knights.
What are those questions I’m referring to? Glad you asked. When it comes to recapping the Knights’ season thus far, there is one defying factor. Injuries.
With key players like Mark Stone, Max Pacioretty, William Karlsson, Alec Martinez, Shea Theodore, having missed multiple games. It’s hard to pull off wins in situations where you have key contributors missing a month or two worth of time.
So why did I mention that, because the Knights could be without Max Pacioretty, Mark Stone, and many more players tonight. With that being said, it is important to mention that the Knights are supposed to get Nicolas Hague back tonight.
What will the lines look like? Well let’s take a look.
Offense
Mattias Janmark-Chandler Stephenson-Evgenii Dadonov
Jonathan Marchessault-William Karlsson-Reilly Smith
William Carrier-Nicolas Roy-Keegan Kolesar
Michael Amadio-Brett Howden-Nolan Patrick
Defense
Nicolas Hague-Alex Pietrangelo
Brayden McNabb-Shea Theodore
Ben Hutton-Dylan Coghlan
Goalies
Robin Lehner
Logan Thompson
The Vegas Golden Knights have a couple different lineup options to choose from tonight. With lots of big name players out, they will have to fill some of those voids which gives them lots of opportunities.
When facing the Capitals, you are going to have to put on a strong showing on the defensive side of the puck in order to keep them from getting the puck on Ovechkin’s stick.
The Vegas Golden Knights are obviously a very good team in both talent and depth. However, this is no ordinary team they are about to face. It’ll take a lot of great line changes, and a lot of strong defense in the defensive zone, but they can walk away with a win if they play to their full potential.
