Vegas Golden Knights take a chance on explosive skater at end of Third Round
The Vegas Golden Knights have taken a speedster with their final Third Round pick.
On the clock for the second time in the Third Round of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft, the Vegas Golden Knights opted to take forward Jackson Hallum with the No. 91 overall pick.
Hallum was selected from the Green Bay Gamblers of the USHL, and it is the prospects’ blistering speed that immediately grabs your attention.

Put simply, Hallum is an absolute speed demon and that has been his biggest weapon, while it will no doubt continue to be once he eventually makes the National Hockey League.
Considered by some to be one of the strongest skaters in the entire Draft class, Hallum is a two-way player but he can puck an offensive punch for any team he’s on.
He recorded 35 points (18 G, 17 A) in 25 games for St. Thomas Academy in the USHS-MN in 2019-20, while he also put up 26 points (12 G, 14 A) in 18 games for Team MAP South Hockey.
Hallum’s explosiveness and ability to get to the net will be a huge weapon, with the forward regarded as one of the fastest skaters in the State of Minnesota.
His ability to get up and down the ice in seconds will make him a two-way threat, and he’s also able to slice through and dangle defensemen, while creating plenty of chances for his teammates.

At 6-foot and 170 lbs, Hallum isn’t afraid to lay down a hit, scrap for loose pucks in the corners and bring some grit to the game.
All in all, Jackson Hallum ticks a lot of boxes for the Golden Knights and he’s a compelling project for the future.
The Golden Knights have now taken two forwards (Brendan Brisson and Jackson Hallum) and a defenseman in Lukas Cormier in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft.
