If you need entertaining or cheering up with the Vegas Golden Knights on hiatus, go and give Nate Schmidt a follow on Instagram immediately.

We live in scary and uncertain times right now and, with no timeline on when the Vegas Golden Knights may be able to resume their season, if at all, things can appear pretty bleak right now.

Of course, this is a very worrying time for our country and our thoughts are with those who have been directly impacted by the coronavirus crisis, along with those brave doctors and nurses who risk their own health on a daily basis in order to save others.

But, we also know that sports still act as an escape for a lot of us, myself included, and it is our job at Vegas Hockey Knight to try and get you through these weird and uncertain times.

So, who better to help us accomplish that than Nate Schmidt?

Everyone’s favorite Vegas Golden Knights defenseman is like that loveable mate who even your own family can’t get enough of.

He lights up every room he enters and his energy is infectious. Just ask Marc-Andre Fleury, who made it clear that Schmidt is the guy he would love to be quarantined with.

And you only have to visit social media to find out why.

Schmidt is like one relentless big ball of energy, bringing us all a laugh while hockey is on hiatus.

Last week, the defenseman regaled us with tales about his beloved Minnesota Twins, before taking live batting practice out in the streets.

While adhering to strict social distancing rules, of course.

And Schmidt has taken his activity on social media to a whole different level this week, giving us the content we all crave and need in our lives.

Creating the ‘Quarantine Chronicles,’ Schmidt has made it his mission to keep us all laughing while we adapt to a new normal.

On this week’s edition, the ‘Quarantine Chronicles’ became the ‘Yard Work Chronicles,’ following Schmidt as he gets to work on dismantling his yard.

Looking crappy, his words not ours, the Golden Knights blueliner let his garden go during the winter months and allowed the weeds to attack.

He was slacking, basically.

However, with plenty of time on his hands, Schmidt took on the ultimate task by attempting to rip out an old stump without destroying the grass.

Could he do it successfully?

We are all eager to find out.

Well, he was dealt an obstacle early on having run out of some grass seed, only to stumble across another bag.

How’s your luck, hey.

That resulted in the start of a fascinating competition to see which side of the grass could grow out the fastest, and we can’t wait to see who the winner is. (No, seriously, this is what happens when there is no sports).

Then it was on to the ultimate mission: tackling that stump.

Spoiler Alert: Schmidt failed.

While he is a master on the ice for the Golden Knights, the defenseman shouldn’t give up his day job in a hurry.

Defeated early, which resulted in an exhausted Schmidt sprawled out on his front lawn, the blueliner retired and soon admitted defeat.

What happens now with the stump and the grass is anyone’s business, but we can’t wait for the next episode of ‘The Quarantine Chronicles’ to be uploaded from Nate Schmidt.
