Marc-Andre Fleury is an All-Star once again with the Vegas Golden Knights goaltender on his way to St. Louis in January.

The official rosters for the 2020 NHL All-Star Game in St. Louis were announced on Monday with the lone representative of the Vegas Golden Knights being a familiar face.

For the fifth time in his NHL career Marc-Andre Fleury will attend the All-Star Game, and it will also be the third straight year that the future Hall of Famer has been involved in the festivities.

Fleury will be the only Vegas Golden Knights player at the 2020 All-Star Game in St. Louis, which takes place over January 24-25 at Enterprise Center, although teammate Max Pacioretty is part of the “Last Man In” vote, which opens on Wednesday (we’ll have more on that shortly).

It is perhaps a slight surprise that Fleury is St. Louis bound given that it hasn’t been a vintage year for the goaltender so far, while Pacioretty is on course for a career year.

More from Vegas Hockey Knight

Through 27 games, Fleury has a 15-8-3 record with a 2.74 Goals Against Average and a .912 Save Percentage along with two shutouts.

There has of course been some stellar moments so far this season, including THAT save to absolutely rob Toronto Maple Leafs forward Nic Petan on Nov. 19, and a ridiculous pad save against the Minnesota Wild on Dec. 17.

However, it has been a testing year for Fleury who lost his father last month and such a tragic event was bound to have an emotional toll.

He struggled in the last couple of games before the Christmas break, allowing seven goals on 38 shots against the Colorado Avalanche, although Fleury was more himself as he made 27 stops in the big win over the Arizona Coyotes on Saturday.

And Fleury is one of two goaltenders on the Pacific Division roster for the 2020 All-Star Game alongside Arizona Coyotes star Darcy Kuemper, who is currently week-to-week with a lower-body injury.

It is a strange roster from the Pacific Division which currently carries seven forwards, including Edmonton Oilers star Connor McDavid as the Captain, and just one defenseman with that honor going to Calgary Flames blueliner Mark Giordano.

That could change of course following the conclusion of the NHL’s “Last Man In” vote, with Vancouver Canucks rookie Quinn Hughes and Los Angeles King defenseman Drew Doughty both eligible to be voted in.

Back to Fleury and the goaltender will have his chance to shine in the NHL 2020 All-Star Game on Saturday, Jan. 25, which is of course played in a 3-on-3 format, a day after the 2020 All-Star Skills competition takes place.

And the goalie could be joined by Vegas Head Coach Gerard Gallant, who is on track to coach the Pacific Division with the Head Coach of the NHL team with the highest points percentage (points earned by total possible points) in each of the four divisions at the halfway point of the regular season then chosen to guide the respective All-Star rosters.

It has been quite the decade for Fleury who has appeared in all four of his All-Star Game appearances over the course of the last 10 years, and it will be entertaining to see Fleury in action in St. Louis.

After all, it is no secret that Fleury is the life and soul of the party and he was born to take part in events such as the All-Star Game.

And, despite a few rough moments so far this year, Fleury does deserve to be on the Pacific Division roster because of his importance to the Golden Knights and the plethora of highlight-reel plays he’s already racked up this year.

Finally, here are the 2020 NHL All-Star rosters for each Division:

Next. Golden Knights need a Winter Classic and soon. dark

Overall, we can’t wait for the 2020 All-Star Game in St. Louis and Marc-Andre Fleury is a worthy choice to represent the Vegas Golden Knights.
