My Three Stars of the Game

  1. Jonathan Marchessault is my obvious First Star because, after all, he did score a natural hat trick to end his goal drought, which dated back to Nov. 16. Marchessault got two nice deflected goals and he was an absolute force in the third period when the Vegas Golden Knights needed someone to step up to the plate.
  2. Alex Tuch has six points (three goals, three assists) after tallying three assists against the New Jersey Devils. Tuch is really starting to find his groove after an injury-ravaged start to his season, and the forward looks like he could be the player to provide the secondary scoring the Golden Knights so need and crave. He was at his playmaking best against the Devils on Tuesday.
  3. Chandler Stephenson endured a turbulent 24 hours after being traded from the Washington Capitals on Monday. Stephenson had to jump on a plane, meet up with his new teammates and then get ready for a game that night. However, we all know hockey players are different beasts and Stephenson looked like he’d been with this team for months, slotting in on the fourth line and contributing a goal on his debut. What a couple of days for the center.

Looking Ahead

The Vegas Golden Knights are now 2-0-0 on this road trip and they bring it to a close against the New York Islanders on Thursday at Nassau Coliseum.

The Islanders have cooled off as of late but they are still going to post the Golden Knights with an extremely tough test.
