3. Second Line Reunion So Sweet

There was a new look to Vegas’ second line to start the year after Cody Glass was named as the pivot between Max Pacioretty and Mark Stone due to injuries, with Paul Stastny dropping down to the third line.

And it paid off emphatically as Pacioretty, Glass and Stone meshed perfectly, with the rookie phenom a big factor behind fine starts to the year for Stone and Pacioretty.

However, with Cody Eakin coming off the IR and returning to the lineup tonight, there was a shakeup for the second line with Glass dropping down to the third line to replace Brandon Pirri on the right wing and Stastny being bumped back up to the second line.

And it was as if the center was never apart from Pacioretty and Stone.

The dangerous trio combined for five points with Stastny recording his first goal and first point of the year.

Pacioretty registered a two-point night (two assists) and Stone continued his red hot start to the year with a goal and an assist for his fourth two-point night of the season.

It didn’t take long for that second line to mesh perfectly together again and I have a feeling it will be left untouched going forward.
