2. Marc-Andre Fleury

It has been a while since we last had the pleasure of watching Marc-Andre Fleury do Marc-Andre Fleury things between the pipes, but that long wait finally came to an end on Saturday when the future Hall of Famer made his preseason debut.

And the night couldn’t have gone any better for the three-time Stanley Cup champion, who stopped all 11 shots fired at him in the first period, including pulling off a couple of impressive pad saves.

He also kept out three shots on the power play and he finished the night with 28 saves on 29 shots, displaying all the hallmarks of what has been an elite career in the NHL. He appeared dialled in from the very first drop of the puck and that is an encouraging sign for the Golden Knights.

With Garret Sparks and Oscar Dansk having now joined the Chicago Wolves in the AHL after clearing waivers, Fleury is likely to get at least one more start between now and the end of the preseason with three exhibition games left in order to get even more locked in.

However, Fleury is a veteran and a model pro and no matter how many more preseason games he plays, he will be locked in and ready to go from the very first drop of the puck in the regular season and he will be critical to the Golden Knights’ chances of being a legitimate contender in 2019-20.
