Perhaps these problems are overblown
Sure, fans are clenching their rears for an Adin Hill start like a bad run from Taco Bell. But there are also some reasons why the Vegas Golden Knights should be fine against the Calgary Flames.
For one, the Flames don't have the best special teams. With a mediocre power play (18.5%, tied for 17th) and penalty kill (71.4%, tied for 27th), it provides an ample opportunity for the Golden Knights (36% on the power play, fourth in the NHL) to strike.
Plus, they've lost three of their last four games, falling to teams like the Winnipeg Jets and Carolina Hurricanes. Eventually, good teams will start entering the picture, which will be what the Flames are facing on Monday.
It'll be a big test for both teams on Monday. For the Golden Knights, it's a chance for Adin Hill and company to show they can handle anybody at home. For the Flames, it's an opportunity to regain their footing after winning the first four games. It could mean momentum for Vegas as they head to Hollywood on Wednesday.
