Vegas Golden Knights fans, it's almost that time of year again. The temperatures are rising to triple digits and everyone's faces will begin melting off.
Yeah, it's like that sometimes.
But in all seriousness, Jack Eichel and the Golden Knights are gearing up for yet another Stanley Cup playoff run. They're aiming towards the Pacific Division and yet another 100-point season, taking down all comers in their wake. Hmm... I wonder what happened the last two times they had 100 points in a season?
Anyway, that time of year is coming up. It's when the team looks to go on another deep run into June. The goal? Bring Lord Stanley back to Las Vegas and establish yourself as the big dog in the NHL.
Sure, some fanbases will be upset and crying into their jerseys. But who cares? When you have an excellent front office leading the way, you can do anything you want.
But I bet you're probably wondering:
"When do the NHL playoffs start? I want to see Eichel and company go on another deep run."
That's a good question, dear reader. Luckily, you don't have to go far to find the answer. Even non-Golden Knights fans can read this and get a definitive answer. After all, the hockey community is one of a bond (even if some of us hate each other's guts).
When do the NHL Playoffs start?
So the NHL regular season ends on April 17, 2025. Eliminated teams will pack up their things, hit the golf course, and wait for the 2025-26 season to start. That includes the Seattle Kraken and San Jose Sharks, who've already been eliminated.
That leaves April 19, 2025, as the first day of the Stanley Cup playoff season. That's when they'll continue through April, May, and much of June. The last month is where Vegas Golden Knights fans could have their faces melted off like they're in the "Lost Ark."
Mind you, it's a day earlier than last season, giving general managers an additional day to prep for the offseason. That's important because Kelly McCrimmon needs all the time he can get to evaluate his next move.
As for the playoffs? There are four rounds with 16 teams qualifying for the playoffs (eight from each conference). The format can be found here. The goal's to win the Stanley Cup, which the Florida Panthers did last season. They vanquished the Edmonton Oilers in seven games, avoiding a reverse sweep after going up 3-0. Will the Golden Knights hoist Lord Stanley this season? Stay tuned.
