Be safe from the injury bug
The Golden Knights have been good on the health front this season, only suffering a couple of significant injuries. That consisted of Victor Olofsson suffering a lower-body injury on October 22 against the Washington Capitals and Mark Stone suffering the same injury on November 6 against the Edmonton Oilers.
They're hoping that same luck persists throughout the season, given their recent track record. The past three seasons have seen Eichel (spine), Stone (lacerated spleen), and Adin Hill (lower-body injury) all go down, leaving the Golden Knights vulnerable.
Last season was a perfect example of this bugaboo striking the team. After December 17, 2023, against the Ottawa Senators, the Golden Knights were 21-6-5. Then, Hill gets hurt and the team falls out of favor in the playoff race. The result was a wild-card matchup with Pete DeBoer and the Dallas Stars, where they were ultimately eliminated in seven games.
Maintaining a clean bill of health is imperative for the Golden Knights this season. The Edmonton Oilers (44 points, 8-2-0 in their last 10 games) aren't going away anytime soon. They're the toughest adversary to Vegas this season, challenging for the top spot in the Pacific Division. Therefore, the Golden Knights must have as many players healthy as possible.
