No, Mark Stone and the Vegas Golden Knights never stepped onto the ice dressed as Elvis Presley. But it would be amazing to see the Golden Knights skate around the ice dressed as the rock and roll legend. The Las Vegas icon did inspire Sin City's uprising, making it an American staple today.
But we're not here to talk about Elvis today. Instead, we're talking about jerseys. No, we're not talking about which ones were the best in franchise history. Instead, we're going the opposite direction.
We're looking at the WORST jersey in franchise history. Believe it or not, people don't understand that not everythings is rosy in Las Vegas. Tourism numbers are down and people aren't happy about this particular jersey ever existing.
So, which is the worst jersey in franchise history? The good news is it doesn't go back to the team's inception. Instead, we must go back to the... Winter Classic.
The Vegas Golden Knights Winter Classic jersey is the worst jersey in franchise history
Look, I get where the Golden Knights were going with this. You don't have much team history to draw upon, considering you've been in the NHL for less than 10 years (seven at the time of the 2024 Winter Classic). That's why you had to draw upon the "Wild West" theme that Nevada holds dear... or something like that.
But the jersey itself looked... bland. It resembled nothing like the "Wild West" theme that the team was shooting for, leaving plenty of fans disappointed... or it was supposed to represent the Vegas neon lights... or it was supposed to represent medieval times. I don't know.
One could say that it was the main reason why the Golden Knights lost, 3-0, that day. Those jerseys probably angered the Kraken to the point of making Joey Daccord shut them out at T-Mobile Park. Hey, it must've felt like a Mariners game, except a team from Seattle actually won at that hitter's park.

I mean, look at it! What's that "V" even supposed to mean? It's way too simplistic and frilly! I hate the era where we have everything simplified in terms of logos and design. It takes away from the character and uniqueness of a present entity. I hope this changes in the future.
I'm sure fans can agree with me on this. This jersey was representative of the overall experience for the Golden Knights on January 1, 2024. One could say that disastrous thread was indicative of the overall season, where Vegas was eliminated in the first round.
