It's a good time to be a Vegas Golden Knights fan right now. The team is going back to the Stanley Cup playoffs for the eighth time in nine seasons, unleashing a strong attack from John Tortorella. How lethal has that attack been, you ask?
The Golden Knights have taken 233 shots on goal since Tortorella came on board. In fact, they've totaled 30 or more shots on goal in all but one game (April 11 against the Colorado Avalanche, where they had 29). Suddenly, the attack looks lethal, peppering the opponents whenever they can.
Of course, it also helps that the team's mentality changed for the better. The Golden Knights were (allegedly) lifeless under Bruce Cassidy, mailing in games while he was the head coach. Maybe not. Whatever the case, Vegas is looking like the Stanley Cup contender that they were destined to be in the preseason.
That's good news for a team working hard to right the ship late in the season. They've done a complete 180 for 2025-26, coming within a point of clinching the Pacific Division. Imagine saying that a couple of weeks ago, when this team was down in the dumps. That wouldn't have been possible!
But that's the whole point about this article: work ethic. The Golden Knights have worked hard for their new head coach, who's instilled a nice change of attitude in the team. Now, they look lethal on offense and have even done excellent work in net, posting a save percentage of .921 since Tortorella arrived.
So, take this lesson and apply it today. Work hard for your goals and dreams. Do whatever it takes to make your dreams happen. If you put in the work, more doors will open rife with opportunities. That's especially true if you're working to win the Stanley Cup.
