Did you know that Dylan Coghlan hasn't scored a goal at home with the Vegas Golden Knights? He got his first career playoff goal on Wednesday in a 4-2 win over the Colorado Avalanche, kicking the scoring off. Mind you, that was the first goal he scored in five years and he replaced Kaedan Korczak.

Five years! We've had an election happen between Coghlan's goals.

Of course, fans will remember the infamous hat trick he scored on March 10, 2021. He provided all the scoring for the Golden Knights, despite Vegas losing to the Minnesota Wild, 4-3. That was his best career showing, hands down, putting him in Golden Knights lore for eternity.

Still, playing on the road isn't easy for anybody. The Golden Knights know this and they took the bull by the horns on Wednesday. Doubling up on the Avalanche (the President's Trophy winners, mind you) is something that will set the tone for the series.

All of this was because of Coghlan's first career playoff goal. Imagine how great that feels when you help your team win Game 1 and kick off the scoring. Keep in mind that this is the Western Conference Final that we're talking about here. That makes it ten times better.

So, what can we take away from all of this? Well, move with your feet when playing on the road. Sometimes, a little motion can lead to being in the right place at the right time, i.e., Coghlan. In turn, it can lead to a win.

Who knows? It could even lead to another Stanley Cup. Sometimes, the unsung heroes are the ones who spark a turnaround and lead the way. That could be the case for the Golden Knights, who can thank Coghlan for taking home-ice advantage.
