I can't tell you how excited I am to travel to Stockholm for the weekend. First, I love traveling to cities like Los Angeles and Montreal, taking my mind off of life's daily stresses. Second, I'm going to a different continent, getting away from North America and experiencing life abroad.
Isn't that the coolest thing ever? I get to learn about the homeland of numerous Vegas Golden Knights stars, whether it's the newly acquired Rasmus Andersson or the Original Misfit, William Karlsson. I might freeze my butt off after being in the 70-degree Fahrenheit weather of Las Vegas. But hey. I believe it'll be worth it.
Lo and behold, the Winter Olympics are also happening in Europe. Soon, hockey players like Jack Eichel and Mitch Marner will grace the *tiny* ice and try to bring glory home to their respective countries. So, what can we learn about traveling to this continent? What tips do I have for you if you've never been there before?
Some friendly travel advice to traveling to Europe from a fellow Vegas Golden Knights fan
First, be sure to plan ahead. I'm talking about months in advance here, especially if you plan on going to a hockey game. European arenas are generally smaller than North American arenas, yet the game is just as popular overseas. Therefore, be sure to pounce on tickets.
But also be sure to plan ahead on the whole "getting past certain checkpoints" and "knowing what you want to do" standpoint. New rules and regulations are coming to the European Union, which could complicate your traveling schedule. It's wise to do your research and see what you must do to properly make it to Europe.
Finally, bundle up if you're going during the Winter months. When I traveled to Montreal, I wasn't expecting it to snow fairly hard. It's a good thing that I bundled up with a hat and extra layers because I thought I was going to turn into a human popsicle!
I plan on having fun during this shorter—yet funn-er—trip. When I went to Romania a couple of years ago, it opened my eyes to what life could be like abroad. Eventually, I plan on transitioning out of the country to enjoy my life elsewhere. In the meantime, be sure to have a blast on your travels!
