Wednesday's "Golden Knights" wisdom about... endurance

Sometimes, you must endure terrible things in life to make it through the other side. That applies to the Vegas Golden Knights.

The Vegas Golden Knights just endured a brutal four-game road trip out in the Northeast. Let's just say that the trip was absolutely forgettable, except for the horrid memories invoked from past Januaries. Like, how bad? We're talking about suffering your first regulation loss in Ottawa. That kind of bad.

Luckily, they return home to the Fortress on Thursday. Their opponent? The Dallas Stars.

Man, it looks like the Golden Knights can't catch a break. Oh well, the Kraken are around the corner after. That should be some sort of reprieve, right? After all, Vegas has an all-time record of 12-2-2 against Seattle.

Well... the Kraken actually look like a decent team this season. Sure, there are nothing but mid offensive players. But the team has done a spectacular job of stopping shots and preventing goals. In fact, they're fifth in the NHL in team save percentage at .908.

Already, that's bringing up traumatic memories of the Winter Classic between these two teams. Remember Joey Daccord? He's having a decent season with a GAA of 2.89 and a save percentage of .901. Maybe those podcasters were on to something about being the "greater expansion story..."

What can Golden Knights fans learn about endurance?

The good news? The Golden Knights are inching closer to the Olympic break. That means that most of the team can rest their weary souls, with the exception of the big guns. Of course, you need to see superstars like Mitch Marner, Jack Eichel, and Mark Stone play. It's for the ratings, you know?

But the break also provides a chance for injured players to heal up. That means key stars like Colton Sissons, Brett Howden, and Carter Hart can heal their weary bones and come back at full strength. Thank goodness for rest and relaxation, eh?

So, what can we do to get to that point? Why, you endure and take on the big opponents! That means willing your way to strong third periods as you did on Tuesday. Have Pavel Dorofeyev, will travel against teams like the Montreal Canadiens.

That applies to anything in life, whether it's dealing with crappy insurance companies or tiring road trips to Canada. Everything will pass in due time, leading to things being back to normal. Of course, there are events that are more catastrophic that can shake your world. But the lesson still applies here. Just keep on truckin'!
