Remember when I talked about New Year's resolutions for the upcoming new year, Vegas Golden Knights fans? I talked about how tough it is to maintain these resolutions, whether it's quitting the gym after a couple of weeks or throwing away that salad in February.

Well, the Golden Knights need a resolution or two to get them to a Stanley Cup this season. The overwhelming amount of injuries, combined with underwhelming play, has fans worried. This is supposed to be a team that's in the driver's seat for the Stanley Cup. Well, they're not in first place in the Pacific Division and stars like Jack Eichel are out of commission (albeit some are coming back soon).

But they're not the only ones that need to stick to their resolutions. You see, regular people like us tend to abandon such resolutions before we even give them a chance. Why do we bail on these resolutions before even giving them a chance? We end up at square one before we tried to change our lives for the better.

Vegas Golden Knights fans like myself must stick to our New Year's resolutions through thick and thin

This year, I'm committing to sticking to my resolutions. That includes exercising more by walking, going to the gym, and eating right. That way, I can live a healthy life and be at my best for the future.

But the Golden Knights must also use health as a New Year's resolution. The team has lost key players during the season and the ugly trend shows no signs of slowing down. Perhaps a big trade deadline acquisition will do the trick? Whatever the case, the Golden Knights need a quick fix.

Heck, you can make the case that the overall defense needs to be better. 15 goals in your last three games isn't a good sign for a Golden Knights team looking to win the Stanley Cup. Yes, part of that has been because of unfortunate bounces or bad puck luck. Still, the Golden Knights can't let such plays happen. Otherwise, they're playing from behind and blowing leads.

Therefore, let's focus on getting healthier and committing to the bit. No bailing on the gym or tossing those salads out. Instead, let's focus on bettering ourselves and helping other people in need. That way, the Golden Knights can win a Stanley Cup and we can celebrate our personal Stanley Cup victories.
