Ladies and gentlemen, we've officially entered the dog days of the hockey cycle. The season's over with the Florida Panthers repeating as Stanley Cup champions. Oh darn, the Golden Knights didn't win this year. It's a darn shame.
But that doesn't mean fans can't stop having fun. There's an NHL Draft in Los Angeles happening on June 27 and 28 and it features the stars of tomorrow. Perhaps you're interested in some Michael Misa action on your team. Maybe you can't get enough of Matthew Schaefer.
Whatever the case, these upcoming prospects are only part of the equation. You also have a looming superstar getting ready to choose his next destination. Will it be Las Vegas? Perhaps he's interested in becoming a Florida man? Stay tuned for the next episode of the Mitch Marner sweepstakes.
But what about the wait? What is there is do when your favorite team (and the 31 other teams) aren't playing anymore? How can you whet your appetite for more hockey until early October rolls around?
That's a good question. But it's a simple one; there are some routes you can take. Perhaps you want to relive the magic of promises kept in 2023. Maybe you're interested in the Golden Knights blister through the Western Conference in their inaugural season.
What I'm doing for the 2025 summer as a Golden Knights fan
Here's what I'm doing this summer as a passionate Golden Knights fan. If you want to tag along and enjoy the scenic views, you're more than welcome to.
First will be the NHL Draft in Los Angeles. That's a big one for Golden Knights fans to check out. Vegas doesn't have a first-round draft pick, meaning the first day is of zero significance to them. However, there will be six picks to watch for, ranging from the second round to the sixth round.
Next, there's the Battle 4 Vegas, where Jack Eichel and company battle Brock Bowers and the Las Vegas Raiders. The Raiders haven't been too successful in recent years compared to the Golden Knights. Maybe Eichel and the boys will gift them one victory?
Of course, there's also prepping for the upcoming road trips. The NHL schedule typically releases in July, so watch for that. There's a possibility that a trip to Sunrise is added considering a near-four drive is on the table.
Hey, I've done the Los Angeles drive plenty of times. This shouldn't be too much of a problem, you know,
I know this summer will stink without the boys playing at T-Mobile Arena. However, that doesn't mean you can't stop thinking about the gold gang. Hang in there because the regular season will be here before you know it.
