Wednesday "Knight" wisdom about... dragons

No, we're not talking about Dragon Ball Z here. Instead, we're talking about former Golden Knights coach Gerard Gallant heading to China.

We live in an age of AI, one that Gerard Gallant isn't familiar with. That means creating believable videos that would fool the average American. That can range from podcasters from the Pacific Northwest putting on dunce caps to Vegas Golden Knights fans watching hockey at a Pizza Hut.

But that's the exact route that the Shanghai Dragons took with announcing Gallant as their new head coach. It was a video that was... interesting to say the least.

I mean, Gallant dressing up as a Mortal Kombat character is certainly something. You don't see a hockey coach dressed up like he's going to deliver a fatality. It's part of what makes the internet random.

But there's a greater lesson for Golden Knights fans here. No, it isn't dealing with Gallant as a video game character. Instead, it has something to do with slaying your dragons and moving past your demons.

What can Golden Knights fans learn about slaying... the dragon?

Let me be 100% frank with you. I've felt tired and tuckered out in recent weeks. I've taken a ton of guff (luckily, it's nobody at FanSided since they're overall good people and that's not what they do) from people about work and it's draining on the soul.

However, I've also taken on better habits in the past couple of months. That includes walking, exercising, and learning a new language. The goal? Travel more and look into fulfilling my projects.

Sometimes, life throws a random curveball at you where you're suddenly in Shanghai. Sometimes, leading the Golden Knights to a Stanley Cup Final isn't enough. So for Gallant, keep slaying your dragons.

In fact, that goes for everyone here. Whatever obstacles you have, keep chugging past them. It might not be easy. You might have that one co-worker who loves nagging. But know that everything's temporary.
