The Vegas Golden Knights had the closest thing you could have to a perfect game on Monday. They shut out the Calgary Flames, 5-0, capping off a perfect homestand. They bumped up their home record to 7-0-0, their best start in franchise history. The Golden Knights improved their overall record to 7-2-1, adding two more points along the way (15 total).

As for the Flames? They drop to 5-3-1 on the year, staying put at 11 points. Calgary dropped its third straight game and lost four of its last five. This came after they started the 2024-25 season by winning four straight games. The shutout was the 37th in franchise history (regular season) for the Golden Knights.

So who were the shining "knights" in armor for Monday's game? First, it was Adin Hill, who stopped 16 shots in the shutout victory. He earned his first shutout of the season and improved his record to 4-2-0. This was a game the 28-year-old netminder needed, for he's had his fair share of struggles to start the season.

The fourth line also stood out for the Golden Knights, with Keegan Kolesar and Nicolas Roy leading the charge. The winger scored two goals and one assist, while Roy scored one goal and two assists. The duo did all their scoring in the third period, putting the game out of reach for Calgary.

Now, the Vegas Golden Knights head to Hollywood for a divisional battle

After Monday's big win over the Calgary Flames, the Vegas Golden Knights head to Los Angeles to take on the Kings. The game starts on Wednesday at 7:00 PM PST, with the Golden Knights seeking their first road win. Meanwhile, the Kings are undefeated at Crypto.com Arena with a 2-0-0 record.

This will be a rematch, with the Golden Knights blowing out the Kings last Tuesday, 6-1. This was seen as a breakout game for Tomas Hertl, where he scored two goals and two assists. Will we see a revenge game for the home team in Los Angeles? Or will the Golden Knights get their first road win and extend their winning streak to five games? Stay tuned.

In the meantime, the Golden Knights are enjoying a successful stand at T-Mobile Arena. Numerous pluses came from that shutout victory, including Adin Hill. The netminder needed a bounceback game where he played a full 60 minutes. That's what Hill got, which will silence the skeptics.

If Hill can build off this performance and the fourth line continues putting in productive games, the Golden Knights will become a Stanley Cup threat. It'll be a sight opposing NHL fans don't want to see, especially if the defense stands strong and imposes its goaltender-friendly system. That could mean the Golden Knights are one step closer to hoisting Lord Stanley again.
