Two Golden Knights champions named to NHL Network's Quarter-Century Team

Two Golden Knights (who've played on the ice with the team, mind you) were named to the NHL All Quarter-Century Team. Who made the cut?

Now, some of you will look at the title and say that Shea Weber was a Vegas Golden Knight because of his contract. However, this prompt asks for Golden Knights players who stepped onto the ice with the team. Therefore, no bueno on this one.

That's why we have two Vegas Golden Knights on the NHL Network's Quarter-Century Team. One of those names you'll know is Alex Pietrangelo. The Golden Knights defenseman has 148 career goals, 489 career assists, and 2,095 blocked shots.

It's no surprise that he made the list. The three-time NHL All-Star also has two Stanley Cups to his name (one with the St. Louis Blues and the other with the Golden Knights). He's been one of the most consistent defenders in the league, blocking shots and giving it his all on every play.

But fans will also notice that Jonathan Quick made the list himself. Quick was acquired in 2023 from the Columbus Blue Jackets to fortify the Golden Knights' goaltending situation. He held down the fort while Vegas went on to fulfill promises and finish the most surprising story in the NHL.

The stats show why Jonathan Quick made the NHL Network's Quarter-Century Team

In 18 years, the three-time Stanley Cup champion had a GAA of 2.49, a save percentage of .911, and 63 shutouts. During his Vegas tenure, he started nine games and posted a GAA of 3.13, a save percentage of .901, and three shutouts.

But his bread and butter was made with the Los Angeles Kings. Here, he spent 16 seasons as the Kings' netminder, posting a GAA of 2.46 and a save percentage of .911. On top of that, he had 57 shutouts.

He also made two NHL All-Star appearances, one nomination for the NHL All-Star Team (2011-12), and won the 2011-12 Conn Smythe trophy. Quick also added two Jennings trophies to his collection, making him the best American goaltender ever.

Therefore, fans shouldn't be surprised that Quick also made the Quarter-Century Team. He's shown himself to be a reliable, steady force wherever he goes, whether it's with the Kings, the Golden Knights, or currently with the New York Rangers. Heck, he even had an integral role in getting the Golden Knights that 2023 Stanley Cup.
