Have you ever seen something so dumb that it makes you want to slam your head through a wall? Sometimes, it makes you want to tell that idiot that what they said was completely stupid. Such is the case for another Toronto Maple Leafs media member, as he won't shut up about Mitch Marner. You know what you want to tell the media guy...
It seems like Mitch Marner can't escape the wrath of his old flame, the Toronto Maple Leafs. As mentioned, some people aren't keen on letting the NHL's playoff points leader (21) rest comfortably in his new Las Vegas home. How, you ask?
Well, Steve Simmons of the Toronto Sun just posted the most mind-numbing thing you'll ever see.
"The Stanley Cup is right there to win and somehow in all this excitement Marner is talking about the dark days of Toronto, as though he can’t escape them, whatever those days might have been."Steve Simmons
I mean, we post plenty of Mitch Marner stuff because he's a hot commodity. But you can almost see the playoff excuses rolling in from Maple Leafs media. Like, look at some of the biggest examples of cope that you'll ever see in your lifetime.
How bad is the Toronto Maple Leafs cope in terms of Mitch Marner?
Let's pick apart some examples of pure copium, dear reader. The first one involves an Original Misfit returning from injury to help the Vegas Golden Knights. Yes, you know that this man happens to be none other than William Karlsson.
"They got the splendid William Karlsson back from injury for the final 14 games of the season, which meant Marner could be shifted back to his original position of right wing."Steve Simmons
It looks like a podcaster has some company in his hatred for William Karlsson. #Rigged.
But that's not all. There was also the quality of teams that Vegas played. Mind you, he doesn't mention how the Golden Knights did great at shutting down superstars like Nathan MacKinnon and Clayton Keller.
"They got the early playoff gifts of series vs. Utah and Anaheim, before lining up against the best in hockey. And the beaten-up best, the Avalanche, had almost nothing left being swept away by the overly competitive Golden Knights."Steve Simmons
Perhaps it's the fact that the Golden Knights suffocated the neutral zone hopped on a bunch of loose pucks against Colorado. Maybe it was the Golden Knights' veteran experience that outdid the Anaheim Ducks and the Utah Mammoth. I don't know, I'm just spitballing here.
Mitch Marner continues to make his old flame's blood boil and it's entertaining for Vegas Golden Knights fans
Of course, there were also pot shots at decorated head coach John Tortorella for replacing Bruce Cassidy. Mind you, the Golden Knights are 19-4-1 since the new head coach stepped into the realm. Perhaps Kelly McCrimmon knows what he's doing?
Still, Marner is thriving in Las Vegas because he actually has a team around him. He's surrounded by reliable players such as Jack Eichel, Pavel Dorofeyev, and Mark Stone. These superstars have done immaculate work in providing offense for the Golden Knights, who are heading to their third Stanley Cup Final in their first nine seasons.
That's not even mentioning Carter Hart, who's carried the load for the Golden Knights. All of these pieces equal a jealous ex who can't get over Marner. Maybe you can listen to a Taylor Swift song or two to "Shake It Off?"
