2.) The penalty kill must improve
One alarming trend for the Vegas Golden Knights has been the penalty kill. Saturday marked the fifth straight game the team allowed a power play goal. It was Emil Heineman who got the Montreal Canadiens on the board in the third period, although it was too late.
Still, there's a legitimate reason to be concerned. The Golden Knights had the 25th-best penalty kill heading into Saturday's matchup (76.2%). A lack of disrupting the play and solid exits has left them vulnerable to juicy opportunities from the opposition.
Of course, it doesn't help when you're missing key players like Alex Pietrangelo. The injury bug is also to blame, specifically when you don't have that veteran experience. This should improve as the team gets healthier. However, it's a lingering problem that could cost the Golden Knights much-needed games, leading to more frustration and angst.
