October 30 will be remembered as one of the best sports nights in Los Angeles sports history. The Los Angeles Kings defeated the Vegas Golden Knights, 6-3, behind four goals in the first two periods. It's also the night the Los Angeles Dodgers finished the New York Yankees, 7-6. They won their eighth World Series title, immortalizing themselves as baseball's new powerhouse.

But we're not here to talk about the Dodgers. It's about the Golden Knights getting demolished by the home team. That was after the Kings were doubled up by the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday, 4-2. It was a night when nobody for Vegas was safe. That includes Tomas Hertl, who suffered a hard hit from Mike Anderson in the second period.

Anze Kopitar had a big game for the Kings, scoring a goal and two assists. Five other Kings players chipped in goals, including Warren Foegele, Joel Edmundson, and Adrian Kempe. Meanwhile, the Golden Knights got a goal from Tanner Pearson and two from Pavel Dorofeyev. Los Angeles moves to 6-3-2 (14 points), while Vegas falls to 7-3-1 (15 points). As they say in the business, you can't win them all. Wednesday's game was a frightening example of this for the Golden Knights as they were doubled up.

The Los Angeles Kings get their revenge on the Vegas Golden Knights

Last Tuesday saw the Vegas Golden Knights demolish the Los Angeles Kings, 6-1. It was a monstrous game for Tomas Hertl, who scored two goals and two assists. It also got the Golden Knights back on the winning track, erasing a three-game losing streak. However, the Kings didn't forget about that beating, scoring four goals in the first two periods.

Ilya Samsonov looked beyond mortal in this matchup, stopping 21 of 27 shots. Warren Foegele and Adrian Kempe blitzed the goaltender early, which led to the Kings getting solid scoring opportunities and goals. It also established the momentum for the home team, leading to the Golden Knights not getting much done early.

Of course, Darcy Kuemper was strong throughout most of the game. He stopped 23 of 26 shots to give Los Angeles their sixth win. Meanwhile, the Golden Knights will return to T-Mobile Arena on Saturday searching for their first road win. Their next "golden opportunity?" November 6 against the Edmonton Oilers, who are missing Connor McDavid (ankle injury).

Sometimes, you have those games that you must pack up and throw away. No need to dwell on bad losses, for that could hamper you down the road. The Golden Knights will return to Las Vegas for a Saturday matinee and face the Utah Hockey Club. That offers them the chance to return to the win column and continue their winning streak at home.
