The Vegas Golden Knights as... NFL quarterbacks

'Tis the season for the NFL returning. Let's look at which Vegas Golden Knights stars are the most similar to the most prominent quarterbacks.

Have you ever read something so dumb that you needed to do a double-take on how stupid it sounded? Well, that certainly was the case as I woke up on a Sunday morning, preparing for NFL action.

You see, the UNLV Runnin' Rebels defeated the UCLA Bruins on Saturday, 30-23. Some people, well, weren't taking the loss too well.

Some people just don't have the brain cells necessary to function in regular life. Anyways, thank goodness the NFL regular season is upon us.

Now, our Sundays are occupied (unless there's Golden Knights hockey, of course). On top of that, baseball isn't the only sport in town now.

So let's play a fun little game. Let's compare the Golden Knights' biggest stars to NFL quarterbacks. Mind you, we're looking at quarterbacks starting for their respective teams. Therefore, no backups allowed! 'Tis the season for football because our Sundays are locked in until February!

Mitch Marner: Josh Allen

Both have all the talent in the world and can put up huge numbers. The Golden Knights are getting one of the best players in the NHL on board, making them tough to beat. Expect Marner to run through opponents like Allen does consistently.

Jack Eichel: Patrick Mahomes

Only because they have a slight resemblance. Mahomes has been falling off recently and some people are getting a kick out of it. Will the Chiefs superstar rebound and prove the skeptics wrong?

Pavel Dorofeyev: Jayden Daniels

Both Dorofeyev and Daniels are young exciting stars that have bright futures in their respective leagues. With electrifying speed and a pechant for putting up offensive numbers, watch for the two players to rule their leagues.

Mark Stone: Matthew Stafford

If you wanted someone who could lead a solid comeback, look no further. Stafford and Stone know a thing or two about emotionally charged comebacks, leading their teams to greatness.

Tomas Hertl: Joe Burrow

14 power play goals is a tough record to set. You must be consistent on the man advantage and get comfortable in the slot. Luckily, you have a man who puts up solid numbers like Joe Burrow in Tomas Hertl.

Brayden McNabb: Jalen Hurts

Jalen Hurts isn't going to throw too many passing touchdowns in the NFL. However, he still impacts the game without doing so. That's the same premise that McNabb carries while with the Golden Knights. While he's not putting up offensive numbers, he still serves an important purpose on the team.

Shea Theodore: Baker Mayfield

Two former first-round draft picks. Two players coming from historically bad franchises. Two superstars that found new life in their given homes. That's the story for both Shea Theodore and Baker Mayfield.

Noah Hanifin: Brock Purdy

The jury's out on Brock Purdy as a quarterback.

Is he good? Does he stink?

The same can be said for Noah Hanifin in a sense. Not many people are sold on the defenseman despite scoring 10 goals and 29 assists last season. That could change with a big year in 2025-26.
