The 3 most forgettable Golden Knights in franchise history

The Vegas Golden Knights haven't always had memorable talent on their team. Here are three players who stand out the least.

The Vegas Golden Knights are blessed to have a competitive franchise for their fans. They can watch Kelly McCrimmon cause the Northern neighbors to fill Lake Mead with salty tears, acquiring big names like Mitch Marner and Jack Eichel. Hey, Lake Mead needs it, you know.

They also have had some duds in their franchise history. You see, not everyone can play like Mark Stone and carry a two-way style. Not everyone can play like Alex Pietrangelo and give it their all every single night. Some players are a proverbial turd in the toilet bowl.

But let's look at what constitutes a forgettable player. Such a person should've played a minimum of 25 games with the Golden Knights for a minimum of one season. Yes, one season constitutes being forgotten. However, we must weed out the AHL players like Gage Quinney (three games) since they've had less than 25 games in a season with the Golden Knights.

Therefore, let's look at the three most forgettable names in franchise history. These players had a playing style that didn't translate to on-ice success, similar to watching a live-action Disney remake. Here's a hint: all three were picked in the 2017 NHL Draft.

Siri, cue up the clip. These three poindexters got the "Dud."

3.) Cody Glass

For a fourth-liner, Cody Glass served his purpose. He had a decent forechecking ability and scored nine goals and 13 assists in 66 games with the Golden Knights. That's fairly decent for someone who's played two seasons for the team that selected him in the first round.

But that's the catch. He was selected in the first round of the 2017 NHL Draft (sixth overall) and was expected to take off. However, he was offloaded to the Nashville Predators as part of a three-team deal with the Philadelphia Flyers.

When you're selected with the sixth overall pick, you're expected to carry expectations of making it big. Glass didn't live up to those expectations and was traded. Unfortunately, another high draft pick didn't pan out for the Golden Knights, either.

2.) Nolan Patrick

Nolan Patrick was the piece that was moved to the Vegas Golden Knights in that Cody Glass trade. Like Glass, he was a high draft pick, going second overall in the 2017 NHL Draft. He lasted... one season.

In that one season, he scored two goals and five assists in 25 games before effectively retiring. But Patrick's case is unique in that he wasn't necessarily bad, as he was unlucky.

The former first-round pick dealt with a wave of injuries, one of which came from Nathan MacKinnon himself. He also had a bad history of migraines that hampered his ability to play.

1.) Jake Leschyshyn

Jake Leschyshyn had a chance to build a sustainable spot in the Golden Knights' lineup. He was selected in the 2nd round (62nd overall) and was chosen by the Sin City gods to be the middle-of-the-lineup center.

All of that for... two goals and four assists in 63 games with Vegas. On the ice, Leschyshyn looked lost. He never kept up with the fast pace of the NHL, leaving him caught up in various blunders and mishaps.

As a result, he was canned for good. Nobody knows where he is nowadays. Maybe he's hanging out with Wilson on a deserted island.
