Do you want to know one of the best feelings known to mankind? It's the feeling of winning. You watch your favorite team kick the stuffing out of their opponent, as the Vegas Golden Knights did to the Nashville Predators on Saturday. A 7-2 beatdown is always good for the soul, especially when you exact your revenge on the team that beat you on New Year's Eve.

There's the other side of the spectrum, where you watch your NFL team get decimated by your bitter division rival. When I say, "decimated", I mean that the game is already over by kickoff. Yeah, it was that kind of Saturday for me.

While I watched the injured 49ers fall behind the Seattle Seahawks, the Golden Knights comforted me with a resounding win. Mitch Marner, Mark Stone, and Keegan Kolesar put the sting of an embarrassing loss behind me, ensuring that the hockey gods wouldn't let Bruce Cassidy fall behind.

Thank goodness that the Vegas Golden Knights are also a winning franchise

You know, you learn to appreciate the finer things in life, whether it's finding a $50 bill on the ground or the Golden Knights winning. You can't let the bad things bog you down. If your head coach looks like a deer in the headlights when his team's down by a touchdown in the fourth quarter? C'est la vie.

The crazy thing about our society is that it's easy to get distracted by these bad things. Sure, the 49ers had no chance against a swarming Seahawks defense. After all, what are you going to do without George Kittle? The same can be said on the flip side without Fred Warner.

But there are the Golden Knights, a gritty team that has dealt with numerous injuries itself. Losing Mark Stone, Jack Eichel, and William Karlsson is never fun, especially when you have lofty Stanley Cup expectations. Luckily, Vegas has a bona fide head coach that knows how to... adjust!

Thank goodness because where would fans of other NFL teams be? Imagine having to root for the Raiders, the Dolphins, or the Cowboys, only to watch them fail. Let's enjoy the journey to the second Stanley Cup. It's going to be a fun ride.
