Sunday thoughts about... Thanksgiving

Yes, we're in the middle of the holiday season. That's why it's a good time for Vegas Golden Knights fans to be thankful.

The Thanksgiving week is upon us, meaning that we're here to celebrate football, family, and the finer things to be grateful for. For Las Vegas, there's plenty to be thankful for.

For starters, the Golden Knights have been successful out of the gate. They've made two Stanley Cup Finals and won a Stanley Cup, igniting a city to feel emotions of gratitude and appreciation. The ability to bring in solid pieces by an aggressive front office remains the envy of the NHL.

That includes incredible players like Ivan Barbashev, Tomas Hertl, and Jack Eichel. Of course, you can't forget about Mitch Marner, who's brought the points with him (21 points). It must be great to be the king, huh (even if Golden Knights fans aren't in Los Angeles)?

But it goes beyond the Golden Knights for gratefulness. For one, I'm thankful to be writing for an incredible medium that lets me be me. As long as nobody gets hurt (except mafia members named Eddie because they dress like Prince), everything's good.

I'm also thankful for an incredible community that's supportive of each other, even when other fans start chirping. It's not easy being one of the most recognizable NHL franchises around, being up there with teams like the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Chicago Blackhawks, or the Detroit Red Wings. Again, when you have an incredible front office, you can make the magic happen.

With that, I want you to answer one question for me. What are you thankful for? Are you thankful for your family or friends? Are you thankful that you have an incredible job?

Sometimes, gratitude goes a long way in shaping our lives while putting things in a different perspective. Be sure to think about this once Thanksgiving rolls around. Be sure to think about this when you're at the dinner table with your family, Golden Knights fans.
