Yep, you knew it was coming. It's the proverbial "dig yourself out of a hole and try and come back" sort of game. The Golden Knights have had a bad habit of doing this lately, leaving them tired and chasing. Basically, this is what Vegas has played like in recent weeks.
Yeah, man. I feel you on that.
But the good news is that the Golden Knights have an Olympic break coming up. While Vegas will be cautious with players such as Jack Eichel, Mark Stone, and Mitch Marner, the break offers the team a chance to relax and chill.
Speaking of which, I have a trip to Stockholm this week. I'm checking out the frozen tundra of Viking country, seeing the ABBA Museum and the Vasa Museum. For me, it's a chance to build some content and take my mind off work and other related stresses. Believe me when I say that this is desperately needed.
That also applies to the Golden Knights, who've suddenly lost seven of their last eight games. Things aren't looking positive for the team, with some fans wondering if this is it for the team. The injuries keep piling up and the boys don't look as inspired as they usually do.
You know, I was listening to John Tortorella on the ESPN broadcast talk about the Golden Knights. He mentioned how the Golden Knights lay back before turning on the burners. That was apparent in Sunday's game as they applied extra pressure on the Ducks before losing at the Honda Center.
Maybe they need the break? Perhaps they're thinking of chilling in the 70 degree weather? Who knows. One thing's certain, though. Vegas desperately needs to get going after the break's over. A long five-game road trip awaits and it won't be easy.
