Anyways, the Golden Knights superstar enters the second year of his Vegas residency looking for more. After a stellar Stanley Cup playoff performance where he nearly won the Conn Smythe Trophy, Marner heads into his second year with a clear head.
He also has a goal in mind: Win the Stanley Cup. That would stick it to the Toronto Maple Leafs fans who've bashed him after he left town last summer. But that isn't the only thing to focus on.
Fans should also focus on Marner's potential statline for 2026-27. Can he do better than his 24 goals and 56 assists in 2025-26? How will he do without certain pieces lurking around for the season? More importantly, what will he do with a head coach?
What will determine how Mitch Marner will fare for the Vegas Golden Knights in 2026-27?
To get a better grasp of how Marner will do with the Golden Knights, we must look at numerous factors. That includes the new head coach, Ryan Craig, who's familiar with the Golden Knights' operations. In fact, he's quite familiar with a player who plays like Mark Stone (according to the fans, that is): Braeden Bowman.
Now, I know what you're thinking: Why Bowman? Well, some fans have also stated that Marner is the guy who steps in for Stone once he's gone. They've talked about Marner's offensive acumen and forechecking expertise. Thus, we must call the fans' bluff and look at Bowman's stats.

Now, Bowman might be a youngster and you might not buy too much stock into his statline. However, he did work with Craig during his Silver Knights days, which comes into focus for the Golden Knights.
Looking at Bowman's stats with the Silver Knights, he scored 26 goals and 36 assists in two seasons (88 games). That comes out to 0.70 PPG, which is respectable. Of course, fans should expect Marner to average a point per game or more, especially since he's incredible talented.
Gauging Marner's point total with the Vegas Golden Knights in 2026-27
Looking at how Craig has handled Bowman during his Silver Knights days, there should be an expectation that Marner has something somewhat similar will happen. While it isn't expected that he'll fully embrace the Bowman style, his production should still excel.
So let's say he goes on a tear similar to another Bowman-esque player in Stone. Last season, the Captain averaged 1.22 points per game, which would've put him in the 100-point echelon if he stayed healthy. For Marner, he doesn't have a health problem (knock on wood), which puts him in a prime position. Add in two NHL games and the stat total should be more forgiving.
I'm predicting that Marner will score 30 goals and 72 assists (49 primary assists) with the Golden Knights in 2026-27. He should thrive under Craig's attacking system, where he should go to the net more often. Hey, someone's gotta take the load off with Pavel Dorofeyev gone.
