Imagine this scenario, dear reader. You see a beautiful person walking in front of you. You want to talk to them and get to know them better, maybe go out for a coffee date. You approach them, ready to shoot your shot, only it becomes the personification of Eminem's "Lose Yourself."

"He opens his mouth, but the words won't come out
He's choking now, everybody's jokin' now
The clock's run out, time's up, over, BLAOW"

It looks like you're eating mom's spaghetti tonight because you didn't "shoot your shot." It's a gentle reminder that nobody is perfect, especially in today's world. We're bound to miss our shot, overthinking matters that'll leave us wondering where we went wrong.

For the following Vegas Golden Knights stars, they don't have such a problem (at least in the rink). Big-time stars like Mark Stone, Jack Eichel, and Max Pacioretty have proven to be shot-taking experts, firing the puck whenever they can. It's part of the unbridled success the Golden Knights have sustained during their short franchise history.

On that note, it's worth wondering who holds the record for most single-season shots for the franchise. After all, these shots are going to fly themselves at the goaltender. This player has made a living from being an efficient offensive player, scoring goals at a jaw-dropping pace. Here's the record holder for the most shots for a Golden Knights star.

Max Pacioretty holds the record for most shots in a single-season for the Vegas Golden Knights

Fighting off a sea of endless Jonathan Marchessault seasons, Max Pacioretty had the most shots in a single season for the Vegas Golden Knights. He fired off 307 shots in 2019-20, giving him the record for being the most aggressive offensive player in franchise history. Bizarrely enough, Marchessault (2018-19) held the second spot with Jack Eichel (2023-24) with 278 and spots four through eight.

  • 2017-18: 268
  • 2023-24: 266
  • 2021-22: 251
  • 2019-20: 235
  • 2022-23: 234

It's a testament to the "Original Misfit's" endless pursuit of perfection, where he was elevating his game at every turn. Rounding out the top ten is Alex Pietrangelo (2021-22) sitting at ninth with 227 and Jack Eichel (2022-23) in the tenth spot with 223. Sadly, Mark Stone didn't crack the top ten, leaving him on the outside looking in.

Overall, it's more impressive that Pacioretty held off a bunch of Marchessault-led seasons. The winger was a prominent shooter for the Golden Knights who gave the offense life, bolstering the power play. It's sad his Vegas tenure burned out with injuries and a messy divorce. Still, he shall be known as the single-season shot king.
