You're taking the family to T-Mobile Arena for a Vegas Golden Knights game. You're excited to see Jack Eichel and crew put on another exciting performance. Of course, there is also the pre-game theatrics featuring Lee Orchard, Carnell "Golden Pipes" Johnson singing the national anthem, and the drumline performing. You're ready for another exciting game when you notice something ahead of you. It's a long line of cars on the freeway.
What's more, this jam is two miles long, which amounts to a wait time of... 40 minutes. You must get to the arena by 7 PM and only have a half hour to spare.
That's a whole lot of "NOPE" right there. You want to turn around or seek an alternate route for your troubles. However, the damage is done as there's another accident which caused the traffic jam. Will Flamingo Road save you? What about Russell? You're stuck between a rock and a hard place, needing something to help you avoid the trouble.
However, I have some helpful tips that'll help bust through this troubling conundrum. That includes preparing for the pre-game festivities and how to find appropriate parking. That way, you're not cursing the high heavens about being late for a Golden Knights game. Here's the breakdown on how to properly prepare for a night on the town.
Avoiding the hectic traffic and getting to T-Mobile Arena for some Vegas Golden Knights action
For me, the easiest experience (but probably the longest walk) is parking at Treasure Island Hotel and Casino. They have free parking, giving Las Vegas locals something to cheer for. Circus Circus has this, yet it's trickier to walk toward T-Mobile Arena, and isn't as clean. Therefore, Treasure Island is the go-to spot if you don't mind walking across the Strip and checking out various attractions. Otherwise, get to New York New York Casino and Hotel and pay for event parking.
I prefer getting out of the house four hours before the game starts. That way, I can stop by Beerhaus and grab a bite before seeing Jack Eichel. It's the ultimate hockey fan experience, where you can watch other NHL games in action. You can grab a beer and burger and take in the city's ambience while preparing for your "Knight" with the Vegas Golden Knights.
If you don't feel like spending additional money and want to head to the game, that's also fine. People-watching is a common activity (although it's associated more with Fremont Street) and you can still take in the city sights and sounds. After all, the hockey game will provide more action once you go inside the arena.
If you don't mind waiting in traffic for some time, you don't have to worry about this. Fans can do as they please, which is the beauty of being in the free world. All that's asked is that you enjoy watching another exciting season of Golden Knights hockey, whether you're wearing an Eichel jersey or Karlsson's. Here's to an exciting 2024-25 season!
