"A tradition, unlike any other..."

It's a tagline associated with the Masters. It ushers in the dawn of warmer weather, good times, and an easier life. It means the kids are out of school and playing outside (or playing Fortnite).

Golf has numerous legends associated with the Master's, ranging from Jack Nicklaus to Tiger Woods. Such legendary golfers made the sport and event great, creating exciting moments for the fans and winning titles

The Masters is also associated with tradition, a foundation of golf. Tradition is also found within the halls of the Vegas Golden Knights. What traditions do the Golden Knights offer? What enhances the game day experience for fans and players alike?

1. Flamingos on the Ice

This tradition carries some backstory to it, starting in March 2018 against the Calgary Flames. After taking a 1-0 lead, a fan (and season-ticket holder) named Drew Johnson threw a flamingo onto the ice. Thus, a new post-game celebration was born, with fans tossing flamingos after every Golden Knights victory.

While cities have embraced their form of thrown objects on the ice (see Detroit with the octopus and Nashville with the catfish), Vegas has put its own Sin City flair on this. Thank goodness it isn't a live flamingo, though. PETA would've had a few words with the Vegas Golden Knights.

2. Saying "Knight" During the National Anthem

Vegas Golden Knights fans are extremely passionate about their team. So when you have the national anthem that says, "night," what do you do?

It's become a staple going far beyond T-Mobile Arena. It's extended to arenas invaded by Golden Knights fans, whether it's Los Angeles or Calgary. Yelling, "Knight," during the national anthem has become a regular tradition in the Golden Knights community, showcasing the fan's love for the team.

3. The Pre-Game Festivities

Part of the incredible traditions that come with being a Vegas Golden Knights fan is the pre-game festivities. From Lee Orchard's epic battles with the adversary of the day to the drum line playing, the Golden Knights know how to start a pre-game show.

That's also part of having the best home-ice advantage in the NHL. With the Las Vegas pizzazz and spectacle in full force before every home game, it provides the perfect distraction. Now, traditional golf fans would lose their minds if there was a pre-game spectacle like the Golden Knights's own. But for the NHL, it's perfect, befitting of a team in the entertainment capital of the world.
