5 Good Prop Bets for the Golden Knights
The Super Bowl is upon us! That means TONS of prop bets are flying around. So let's do some with our defending Stanley Cup champs!
1. Number of Times We See Expressive Mark Stone
It's no secret that Mark Stone is an expressive man. The team leader in assists (36) and points (51) shows his emotions on the ice, especially when he scores a goal. In fact, it's spawned t-shirts and Twitter (X) accounts.
With that, let's set the over/under of expressive Mark Stone moments at 20.5. The Captain looks to show Vegas Golden Knight fans how happy and excited he is as a hockey player. If he can duplicate his scoring rampage from December (six goals, 11 assists), you can expect to see Stone showing more emotion on the ice.
2. Number of Drunk William Karlsson Speeches
Now this is contingent on if the Vegas Golden Knights repeat as the Stanley Cup champions. After all, you won't get a drunk speech from William Karlsson if you don't win it all. Still, this would be a fun prop bet for Golden Knight fans to try out.
With that, let's the bet at 0.5 for the over/under. Las Vegas would LOVE to hear another speech from the Swedish star, specifically if he's talking about Stone or Eichel. After all, the fans deserve an encore from the original, especially after setting the standard from "Day F'n One."
3. Return Date of Shea Theodore
If you haven't heard the news, Shea Theodore practiced in a red jersey for the Vegas Golden Knights on Saturday. With no contact being permitted, the defenseman is one step closer to making his return after missing 32 games with an upper-body injury. He'll be a vital asset to Vegas's success come playoff time, for he adds many elements to the Golden Knights's game.
With Theodore getting closer to his return, I think a prop bet of February 29 is appropriate. That would set him up to come back against a tough Boston Bruins team. A before/after prop bet for his return is unique, but he isn't expected to be rushed onto the ice soon.
4. Number of Funny Moments From Jonathan Marchessault
Jonathan Marchessault is known to be a funny guy on the Vegas Golden Knights. From Home Alone parodies to leading a conga line of children with the Stanley Cup, there's nothing the Conn Smythe winner won't do to entertain a crowd. That's what makes him one of the more likable players on the defending Stanley Cup champs.
First, let's define the prop bet itself. Included in the "funny moments" bet includes messing with his teammates, being goofy in the locker room, parodies of various movie franchises, and him just being a jolly fellow. The prop bet shall be set at 4.5, especially with Marchessault being a notorious goof ball on the team.
5. Number of Times Ivan Barbashev Plays on the Top Line
Ivan Barbashev was relatively quiet to start the season. The Russian center had eight points in the first two months, raising concerns about whether he became "fat and happy" from his new contract. However, he's picked up the pace recently, earning him more consideration in the lineup.
Bruce Cassidy is known to tinker with his lineups every now and then. If something's not working, he'll toy with it until it gels. That's probably the case with Barbashev, who's starting to show his value. Let's set the prop bet at 4.5, which would make for an interesting over/under.
