There was plenty of fuss made about Pavel Dorofeyev not making the Vegas Golden Knights playoff roster. The Russian winger has grown as a player, helping the offense in more ways than one. Still, his omission from the roster left some fans befuddled.

"Why isn't Dorofeyev on the roster? He's earned his keep!"

While the debate has gone on for a few days, there's another idea to consider. Which Golden Knights prospects can break the playoff roster in the future? These young guns have the potential to help the team move forward. Whether they're budding forwards or defensive stalwarts, these three prospects deserve some love.

1. Brendan Brisson

Brendan Brisson has proven his worth as a Vegas Golden Knights prospect. The former first-round pick got reps on the first line, flourishing with guys like Jonathan Marchessault. He's got a good hockey IQ and is a special teams asset, with the potential to crack future playoff rosters.

Add in the fact he had two goals and six assists in 15 games with the Golden Knights and he can become a key piece. It'll take some time for Brisson to get used to the NHL level of play. However, he should be primed to take over once some of the elder players leave.

2. Kaeden Korczak

Kaeden Korczak isn't your typical defenseman. He's a physical player that does great in 1-on-1 situations. The Saskatchewan native is a smooth skater who's also reliable, making a good fit for the Vegas Golden Knights's plans. He's also gritty, going after every puck battle with the tenacity of a rabid wolverine.

On top of that, he's got some offensive potency in him, making him a good complement among offensive-minded defensemen. He has the potential to crack the starting six for the Golden Knights defensively come playoff time, given his silky skating and dependability.

3. Carl Lindbom

While Carl Lindbom may not be the biggest goaltender (6'0"), the Swedish goalie is quite athletic. His ability to skate around the crease with ease makes stopping shots a breeze. Making up for his diminutive size as a goalie with quickness can make him a formidable choice for the playoffs.

His past work at the 2023 IIHF World Juniors Championship proves his value. He can steal a game with breathtaking saves, putting the team on his back. If the Vegas Golden Knights move on from either Adin Hill or Logan Thompson, there could be a spot for Lindbom to take the reins.
