As I'm watching the Philadelphia Eagles take on the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday Night Football, I noticed that there was an alternate broadcast featuring the stars of Monsters Inc. Yes, that meant watching Mike Wazowski run around like a G-Mod character in hilarious fashion.
Still, I'm a sucker for old-school Disney/Pixar movies since they're innocent and humorous. Who doesn't like a little green monster running around without opening his mouth? Cue Boo saying Mike Wazowski's name.
But that goes back to another point. You see, the Vegas Golden Knights are a big team, standing at an average of 6'2" (188.35 cm) and weighing 203 lbs. That includes big guys like Noah Hanifin (6'3", 206 lbs.), Brayden McNabb (6'4", 215 lbs), and Tomas Hertl (6'3", 220 lbs). That's a lot of size for a hockey team.
However, there's a good reason for that. The Golden Knights aim to get their sticks out and disrupt the play. That means employing big boys to do the job and deliver some punishing hits. If they're two-way players, that's even better.
While teams like the Nashville Predators love to go smaller for offensive purposes, the Golden Knights aren't shy about being big everywhere. That even goes for the netminders, including Adin Hill (6'5") and Akira Schmid (6'4"). You know what the ladies say: size matters.
That makes for a monstrous group that loves to take up space on the ice. When you combine that with a four-game winning streak, that makes Vegas even scarier. It's almost like they're getting closer to the scare record.
