Not often do you see one-game homestands for the Vegas Golden Knights. The team just came off a grueling five-game road trip to the East Coast, taking nine points in the process. But one game at T-Mobile against the New Jersey Devils? All of this before two games in Alberta?

It's like you're heading home because you forgot something. "Oops, I forgot my wallet! Can't forget that, especially if the police pull me over. Can't have any of that noise!"

That brings us to Tuesday's practice. There were some noteworthy appearances, such as Jeremy Lauzon in a regular jersey and the usual suspects. Fans came in to see Jack Eichel, Mark Stone, and Mitch Marner for a tune-up game against one of those East Coast teams.

So, let's look at a personal account of Tuesday's practice. Who stood out for the Golden Knights? What questions will fans ask as the season rolls on? Let's dive into some notes like we're diving into Lodgepoles at Mackenzie River Pizza (which I'm literally eating right now).

Ben Hutton should stay in the lineup for the Vegas Golden Knights

Do you know the old saying, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it?" That certainly applies to the Ben Hutton situation. Jeremy Lauzon was full-contact for Tuesday's practice, indicating that a return is practically inevitable. However, there's a good reason to keep Hutton around.

For one, he plays solid defense and is an excellent forechecker. But Hutton also has four goals and five assists. He's provided timely scoring when called upon, giving the Golden Knights crucial points when needed.

"If it ain't broke, don't fix it." Don't forget that.

Mitch Marner continues to look good for the Golden Knights

When I saw Mitch Marner on the power play in Tuesday's practice, he was doing everything on point. He fired some goals and set up his linemates for juicy scoring opportunities. Overall, it was an excellent practice that even had some laughs.

But it goes back to a broader point about the Golden Knights winger. The superstar isn't going anywhere and is kicking arse. What you heard about the former "Core Four" member is greatly exaggerated, my friends.

I learned something new about Carter Hart

NHL fans who have seen Carter Hart play goaltender know that he's not the biggest guy on the ice. He makes up for that with quick angles and positioning, making him a tough out for opposing teams. It's no wonder that he has a GAA of 2.61 and a save percentage of .901.

However, he also flashed a great glove and made some incredible saves from point-blank range. There could be a serious conversation about whether Adin Hill should stick around, especially with the newest netminder helping the Golden Knights win.
