When the Shoulder Check Challenge was launched, the goal was to bring hockey players from all backgrounds together in an act of kindness and compassion. The proceeds go to the HT40 Foundation and honor Hayden Thorsen, a former hockey player who passed away.

A 'Shoulder Check' helps reach out, check in, and make contact on and off the ice. You can check out Pavel Dorofeyev on July 24th at 4 PM EST, for he'll participate in the 2025 Shoulder Check Challenge.

The Russian winger led the Golden Knights in 2024-25 in goals with 35 and had 13 power play goals. His breakout season got him a ticket to represent Vegas in Stamford, Connecticut in July. He'll join a former Golden Knight, Jonathan Quick, in the showcase.

Also appearing in the showcase is the newest Philadelphia Flyer, Trevor Zegras, along with New York Rangers tough guy, Matt Rempe and Dallas Stars goaltender, Jake Oettinger. That's some elite company to play with for a good cause.

Pavel Dorofeyev has earned his spot representing the Golden Knights

It's nice seeing Dorofeyev earn his stripes as a hockey player. He's done well enough to make a name for himself and get his spot on July 24. Leading the team in goals will get you recognized.

Now, he'll play alongside Rempe, Zegras, and other good hockey players for a good cause. That's awesome to think about.

It could also give him the necessary bounce to get a solid contract. Keep in mind that he's a restricted free agent after 2025-26, where he'll look for a new deal. The Shoulder Check Challenge will provide that for the Golden Knights winger as he'll showcase his dekes and skills to everyone.

Hey, he could make new friends with every shoulder check coming his way. That's what life's all about.
