Here's one Golden Knights star who must build off his incredible Friday performance against the Nashville Predators.

The Vegas Golden Knights got the biggest scare on Friday against the Chicago Blackhawks. They were down heading into the third period, 3-2. The Blackhawks were skating up and down the ice, creating endless odd-man rushes. Heck, Ryan Donato got himself a hat trick, leaving Las Vegans panicking.

Luckily, Vegas came back and won the game, 5-3. Two points are two points, as they say. You get some divisional separation and move one step closer to winning the Pacific Division. You take them any way you can, right?

Behind three third-period goals, the Golden Knights also move closer to clinching the coveted home-ice advantage for the first two rounds. Sure, the playoffs are an absolute crapshoot. After all, the NHL is a league where an eighth seed can make the Stanley Cup Final (and even win it!). However, you want as many advantages as you can get.

As for Friday's game? Well, one particular player stood out in that game. He had the type of breakout performance that pushes a team closer to clinching that division. Scoring two goals against the Blackhawks certainly helps the cause.

No, it isn't William Karlsson, although he also had a solid performance. The Swedish forward had three assists in that game (including on the game-tying goal and the game-winner). Instead, it was his fellow Swede who led the scoring. That forward must repeat his performance against Jonathan Marchessault and the Nashville Predators.

Victor Olofsson must build off his strong Friday performance

Victor Olofsson had been absent during the past two months. He hadn't scored a goal since January 23 against the St. Louis Blues. However, he had two goals on Friday, leading the eighth third-period comeback (tied for most in the NHL with Montreal and Philadelphia) for the Vegas Golden Knights this season.

He was back to his sniping self, putting up incredible goals throughout the night. That included an incredible wrister just behind the face-off circle to tie the game.

Performances like this are crucial for building confidence in a player. When you've gone two whole months without scoring a goal, you're desperate for anything. After that, you want more. Just ask Ivan Barbashev, who went through the same stretch when he returned against the New York Rangers on January 11.

Can Olofsson start a scoring streak against the Nashville Predators?

The Nashville Predators were well-known for hitting and punishing opponents throughout the past few years. However, this season is slightly different. Sure, they're still in the top 10 in team hits (tied for ninth in the NHL with 1,726 entering Friday). But that doesn't mean they won't punish you.

It's critical for Olofsson to avoid getting sandwiched by incoming Predators players on Saturday. Part of building that confidence starts with avoiding checks and sniping pucks. That way, he can get more shots on goal and bolster the lower lines.

The good news is the Swedish forward fired eight shots in March heading into Friday's game. He was trying to get more pucks at the net and find more scoring opportunities. Luckily, Friday gave Olofsson something in the form of two goals and four shots.

That could happen again if he gets ahold of more passes. It doesn't matter if it's in transition or on the power play. The former Sabres winger must build off his incredible game against the Blackhawks and duplicate that performance. That way, the lower lines can become even more lethal.
