One Golden Knight who can use a little luck of the Irish against the Buffalo Sabres

This young buck can stand to perform well against the Buffalo Sabres.

The Vegas Golden Knights entered Sunday with some incredible vibes. They earned a decisive 4-0 shutout over the Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday, getting goals from stars like Rasmus Andersson and Pavel Dorofeyev (twice). Sounds nice, right?

After all, you've built yourself a nice little winning streak and can make it three against the Buffalo Sabres. But here's the thing, dear reader. The Sabres are hot right now. How hot, you ask?

No, they're not named Hansel right now. But you get the point. There's even some luck involved.

Take a pick from the many stars that grace the Sabres' team. That includes Rasmus Dahlin, Tage Thompson, and an Original Misfit in Alex Tuch. These names have done incredible work in pushing Buffalo towards its first playoff appearance since 2011. Like, we're talking about Obama's first term still being in full swing.

With that comes a hungry Sabres team that wants to finish the job. They want to make the Stanley Cup playoffs and win the Stanley Cup. Yes, so hot right now in Buffalo. However, the Golden Knights can stop the Sabres dead in their tracks and get another win. Believe it or not, that can come from a lucky source. Time to grab your four-leaf clover because it's time to tap into the luck of the Irish with this one!

Kaedan Korczak could use a good game against the Buffalo Sabres

This month, Kaedan Korczak has been relatively quiet. He only has one assist to his name for March, with that coming on Thursday against the Pittsburgh Penguins. In fact, he's taken more penalties (two) in March than he's scored points. While it was nice seeing him bully Connor Bedard on Saturday, fans want to see more from the young defenseman.

They wish to see Korczak add more to a defensive group that has stalled in scoring goals. This season, the Golden Knights blue line has only scored 26 goals, leaving fans to wonder where the meat is. Names like Noah Hanifin (three goals) and Jeremy Lauzon (zero goals) haven't done much for the scoring.

Yes, there has been a bright spot in Ben Hutton (six goals!), who's stepped up nicely in the seventh defenseman role. However, he can't be the only guy who chips in for Vegas. Therefore, the man who can get started is none other than Korczak. How, you ask?

The obvious answer is this: take more shots. This month, the 25-year-old only has five shots. In fact, he's had four games in March where he didn't register a single shot. That's underwhelming and won't get the job done. Attacking the net more will help the defenseman get on the scoresheet and have people believe in him.

If you want some perspective on when Korczak scored his last goal, you'd have to go back to last year. We're talking about December 20 against the Calgary Flames. That's a long time to go without a goal! While it'll be challenging to achieve that against the Sabres, the Golden Knights' blue liner can get the job done. That's especially true with a healthier team coming back into the forefront.
