I won't lie. I've been feeling a bit under the weather today, and the Golden Knights' rocky start to this game had me feeling even worse. Thankfully, I ultimately felt a lot better, as in the first matchup against Mitch Marner's former team, the boys in gold rallied from multiple two-goal deficits to overtake the Maple Leafs 6-5 in overtime.
Suddenly, comebacks seem to be this team's thing, and they're unbelievably riding a three-game OT winning streak now, too. On a night marked by the Marner media frenzy and Adin Hill's first start in months, let's take a look at what willed the Knights back into things.
Pavel Dorofeyev and Jack Eichel have huge nights
They call him "Power Play Pavel" for a reason. Vegas's young sniper showed off what he does best early on, as midway through the first, he struck yet again on the power play to cut the Leafs' lead in half. He did it again at the start of the third, sneaking a rebound past Joseph Woll to get the Golden Knights back within one:

With those goals, Doro broke a three-way tie with Leon Draisaitl and Jake DeBrusk for second in the NHL in power play goals, only trailing Wyatt Johnston. It's been a hot and cold season for the sniper, but with three goals and five points in his last three games, let's hope the Golden Knights' recent momentum is spreading to him. We thought he'd managed to snag a hat trick in the third as well, but the goal was ultimately taken off the board for offside.
Perhaps it would've been more fitting if it were Marner. Still, Jack Eichel was the hero on Thursday. An absurd overtime goal off a feed from Mark Stone completed the comeback for Vegas. The Golden Knights' top scorer had himself a four-point night, assisting on Vegas's first, fourth, and fifth goals before potting the game-winner:

Suddenly, Vegas finds themselves with wins in their last three overtime games. While I'm not sure exactly what, Cassidy's clearly done something to get them going again in the extra period.
Other offensive notes include the man of the hour, Mitch Marner himself. While he didn't have a true revenge game, his two assists helped the Golden Knights cut the lead on both of Dorofeyev's power play goals. Meanwhile, Tomas Hertl continued his blazing-hot streak in notching the game-tying goal for Vegas with just seven seconds left.
With 11 points in his last six games, he's played a critical role in Vegas' recent recovery from the horrors of December. On top of that, his goal marked the second-latest game-tying goal in Golden Knights history. Pretty, pretty sweet.
Adin Hill has a shaky return, but gets the job done
Hill certainly looked rusty in what became his first start since October, allowing three goals on the Maple Leafs' first 10 shots in the first period. However, he mostly settled down as the game went on, including this absurd scorpion save to keep Toronto's lead at two.

While his overall analytics weren't great, I'll chalk it up to rust, as he didn't get any conditioning games in the AHL. Either way, after subpar goaltending for much of the year, it's a relief to get the top guy back in action again.
In a game that saw an overly large Maple Leafs fan contingent booing Marner in his own barn, a classic Toronto choke job was absolutely rich, with the comeback tasting that much sweeter as a result. Overtime wins on both ends of a back-to-back have the Knights continue to roll, and with Edmonton losing, they maintained their Pacific lead. Next up, it's the Predators on Saturday; let's hope for some revenge from that late-December debacle.
