If you thought it was Connor McDavid, well... I've got some bad news for you. Still, that shouldn't diminish what Connor Marritt has done in his hockey career.
He scored 35 goals and 62 assists during his four seasons with the Vernon Vipers of the BCHL. That included eight goals and 13 assists in 36 playoff games with the club. He also made his mark during his two seasons in the CSSHL U18 leagues, scoring 22 goals and 27 assists (66 games) with Okanagan HA Red U18 Prep.
Last season, he was the Captain for the University of Alaska-Anchorage's men's hockey team. Here, he scored two goals and two assists in 28 games, making him a quiet part of the team. However, his prior season was more potent.
Here, he scored seven goals and seven assists in 33 games with the University of Alaska-Anchorage. In 2022-23, he had seven goals and nine assists in 28 games, elevating his status to become the team's eventual leader.
Now, he can lead the new ECHL club to the promised land. With his proven leadership skills and intelligent hockey sense, he'll immediately impact the club as he joins for the 2025-26 season.
After all, you want to do better than bowing out of the second round of the Kelly Cup playoffs. That playoff experience and leadership will come in handy when things get tough. Watch out for Marritt in the upcoming ECHL season. He'll help the team in more ways than one!
