Jack Eichel can establish himself as Team USA's Captain America with a big Olympic campaign

If I told you that Jack Eichel would go three straight games without a point, you wouldn't believe me. That isn't typical of an Olympian that's a couple of weeks from heading to Milan. Sadly, dear reader, that's the case with our beloved Massachusetts native.

Sadly, this is the case for Las Vegas's native hero. He's been ice cold since having a torrid January.

In fact, Vegas is 3-6-4 this season when the superstar center doesn't register a single point. That's bad news for a team that's hoping to win another Stanley Cup. You want your megastar to be involved in any capacity, whether it's scoring timely goals or setting up juicy scoring opportunities.

The good news? He can become the face of Team USA. Auston Matthews doesn't have much of a clutch gene, the Hughes brothers are only loved by swooning fans of the opposite gender, and Matthew Tkachuk is hated by everyone else.

That leaves the man who works great from home. He's the ideal candidate for representing the hopes and dreams of American children everywhere, inspiring them to become the winners that everyone hates. Let's look at how the Golden Knights center can achieve that in February.

The main objective of becoming that face is simple: win the gold medal. That's it. That puts you one step closer to being Team USA's face and representing the hopes and dreams of every American hoping to play hockey...

...At least, that's how it's supposed to go. You see, the United States has loads of hockey talent, whether that's Auston Matthews or Zach Werenski. These players can take the reins and dominate the Olympic landscape. Therefore, it's on Eichel to take charge and actually put up some points.

Last season, Eichel had four assists during the 4 Nations Face-Off. He was great at moving the puck and making his two-way game known across the world. This season, there must be more of the same as he looks to win a gold medal for Uncle Sam.

Eichel can get his chops in before the Olympic Break

Entering Friday, his last three games have seen him go pointless. No points! Like, is this even the Eichel that everyone knows and loves? Certainly, something's up with the hockey star before the Olympics.

However, he does have a favorable schedule ahead. His next four opponents consist of the Seattle Kraken, the Anaheim Ducks, the Vancouver Canucks, and the Los Angeles Kings.

All four opponents provide juicy opportunities for the superstar center to bounce back and have a big game. When you face off against historically inferior opponents, you should be in good hands for scoring goals.

At least, that's how it should go. Don't expect Eichel to be in a slump for too long. He's one to get back on the scoresheet, even with five shots on goal in his last three games. It's almost like he could do this all day.
